Opening the Farmgate for Youth

Dale and Rob Beker run a dairy goat operation near Morrinsville where they run 800 dairy goats for baby formula and rear 200 kids.

They regularly welcome local children and school groups onto their farm for pet and planting days, and wanted to take things a step further by joining Farmer Time for Schools.

“We wanted to give children an opportunity to learn and see farming as a potential career path one day. If they’re interested in animals, machinery or the outdoors, then farmer Time for Schools is a great start.”
